Who Am I?

 Effective Therapy is owned and run by Robert Fogg. Robert is employed in the in the NHS as a Senior CBT therapist. He has a background in Mental Health Nursing and is also registered nurse. He is a an accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and the Association of Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (AREBT).

Robert undertook his formal training at Kingston University and St Georges Medical School and holds a Diploma in Nursing (mental health branch). Robert's postgraduate training was at Goldsmiths College, University of London where he was awarded an MSC in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy. Effective Therapy is located in Surbiton, Surrey where Robert has rooms.  Sessions are held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

There are many forms of counselling and psychotherapy. Robert specializes in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy. This action-orientated form of therapy utilizes both cognitive and behavioural aspects of how we think and behave as individuals. The approach promotes the client to become their own counsellor and to actively challenge their own thoughts and behaviour.

Robert's practice is supervised on a regular basis by an experienced and highly qualified REBT therapist to ensure the highest standards of practice and professionalism. Robert adheres to the 'Guidelines for good practice' of the BABCP and the 'Code of Professional Conduct' as professionally binds a registered nurse laid down by the Nursing & Midwifery Council.
